The fact that the grand opening of the barbershop lined up with the reopening of Sydney meant that there was much to celebrate and much hair to be cut too. After being locked up for 107 days straight the men of Sydney were looking rather unkept. There were some scruffy hairstyles and scraggly beards in much need of professional grooming. This made for some busy days straight out of the blocks and the men of the area hit the barbershop in their droves.

Proprietor and Master Barber Mr Sam Ghadban provides a few words on the opening of the new barbershop:

“It’s exciting to see the new development coming together and to be apart of it all with the barbershop. We were pretty much overwhelmed in that first week we opened however things have  settled down now. Most customers are straight into the chair without waiting. There is still a long way to go before the Granville Place development hits capacity and the complete list of shops and services open up, I’m really excited for that day and l’m looking forward to it, it will be great to see these new spaces in full swing and with some real hustle bustle.”

Business partner, Master Barber and the main man behind the chair in Granville, Mr Wassem Alhelou, also gives some insight into the happenings around the new barbershop.

“We opened the doors and it just exploded at first, there were so many men that needed to be properly groomed. We were non stop until the time came when we had pretty much groomed everyone in the area. Now we wait until their hair grows back and they all need to come back in again, hahaha. We are ready for it, to be pumping I mean, we are putting together some special offers for local residents and hoping to encourage people to come in and give us a try.

We offer grooming for men of all ages and on that topic we provide discounted rates for kids, seniors and pensioners. We complete a lot of skin fades, I mean a lot, and the boys are all amazing at fades, I believe we will gain many customers on the teams ability with fades.

We also offer some specialty services like hot towel shaves, waxing and threading, I believe those extra details will differentiate us from other barbershops. The men here in this area, they expect more than just a haircut and by design we’re here to service that need. A prestige level of beard trimming and beard care is a big part of the service offering.”
