How long have you been a barber for and how is the new barbershop going here in Kellyville Grove?

I have been a barber for seven years now and I worked under the guidance of my uncle at Barber Industries Parramatta for that time before opening the barbershop here in Kellyville. He is my partner here, so the team is exceptionally well experienced, it is a new barbershop but we’re a well seasoned crew.

People are still discovering us and when they do they keep coming back. We see new faces every day and those faces are quickly turning into loyal customers.

What motivates you and what do you love most about your trade as a barber?

I guess I have always taken a great amount of pride in what I do however I am also now a business owner so I am looking at things from a broader scope. I want to make sure that my team is providing the best service in the area and I am motivated to further build on what we have started with the new barbershop here in Kellyville.

Kellyville Grove is a brand new shopping centre and there are still some road works happening nearby which can make accessibility a little tricky for some. I am hopeful that we continue to grow along side with the whole centre as the popularity and accessibility increases. I feel like we have a good energy and a good vibe here, everyone seems to be very happy and that is the reward for all the hard work, everything is moving in the right direction.

Last question; what’s popular at the moment, what are the hairstyles that are on trend and are there any new and emerging trends?

Burst Fades and Mullets! This is definitely the area that is evolving in hair styles amongst men and and boys. There are plenty of variations in length and different combinations with the mullet styles. Right now we see a lot of requests for burst fades and many of these have some length or angles cut in at the nape of the neck which is the big trend.

Much of the drive behind this popularity in burst fades seems to stem off the back of the popularity of the mullet. This is because the key features of each style compliment each other so well. With any kind of burst fade being cut only on the sides, it naturally and perfectly leads into creating a mullet hairstyle too.
