SHORT TEXTURED HAIRSTYLES: WHAT TO ASK YOUR BARBER AND HOW TO STYLE

Short and textured hairstyles are very versatile, they can be worn in endless variations and are very much on trend this season. In today’s article we talk about this family of hairstyles for men. We outline what to ask your barber at the barbershop to get the textured look and finish up with some tips on how to style for texture and volume.
Who do textured hairstyles work best for?
Short and textured hairstyles offer a fun and youthful look. They are a versatile family of hairstyles that include the textured crop, caesar cut and messy quiff. The styles are suitable for men of all ages and most offer the ability to style in several different ways. The hair can be worn messy and textured or swept across and slicked down if desired also.
What to ask your barber?
Short back and sides that is blended into longer, textured and jagged cut lengths on top. For a very edgy look, combine a skin fade into the hairstyle. Ask you barber for low or mid fade on the sides and longer textured hair up top. Be sure to specify just how long you’d like it kept on top, as these hairstyles work equally well in lengths less than an inch, through to several. Decide if you want the fringe cut blunt (straight across) or left jagged too.
How to style with texture and volume?
Depending on your hair type, short textured hairstyles can be wash and go or it may take playing around with a little product to achieve the desired look. Short wavy hair is as easy as a shake and rake styling powder. Fine, straight hair on the other hand will benefit from tousling while blow drying and then some wax or clay teased through the hair to add more volume and messy texture.
