DEVELOPING YOUR DAILY BEARD GROOMING RITUAL

April 18, 2021

We humans are creatures of habit, by nature we love routine and over time we develop little habitual patterns that keep us cruising along in our comfort zone. Take the man’s morning ritual for example: we brush our teeth, shower, shave in a certain way and then next minute: you grow a beard and suddenly all that goes flying out the window.

Before you know it you’re re-evaluating everything from the way you eat your meals to how you wash your face and most importantly how you handle this new beard that is changing everything about your age old routines and life long habits.

If you want your new growth to continue to be healthy, clean and to make you look darn right amazing, then it’s time to develop your daily beard grooming ritual.

The Beard Grooming Essentials

Now that you’re not shaving, you should find ample time to deliver your beard some daily TLC. Rubbing some beard oil through your beard only takes a few seconds and is basically the foundation stone of any beard care regime. It is important to start with a good quality beard oil that provides a smooth, soft and moisturised beard. Your beard should have a nice lustre without being greasy. To achieve this we recommend Beard Oils from the Proraso Single Blade Series.

Use sparingly ( just a few drops for a short beard ) and increase this amount gradually as your beard becomes longer. Rub the beard oil between your palms before applying evenly through the beard and massaging into your face.

The Beard Grooming Master Class

As your beard continues to grow and develop, so too will your grooming routine and ritual. You will need to add some additional tools and techniques to ensure good maintenance of a longer beard. Invest in a beard brush, pocket comb, beard balm and quality beard wash.

Start the day with your beard oil and brush out any tangles before you head out for the day. As you brush you exfoliate your face and neck, removing any dead skin from beneath your beard.

Apply beard balm for added hold while styling and sculpting and then keep a beard comb handy for touch ups during the day. Reapply beard oil intermittently if needed. Don’t forget to wash your beard with a quality beard wash, as many shampoos will strip away the natural oils and undo all your hard work.
