Barber's Advice On Men's Fitness For Spring

At the time of writing we are days away from the changing of the season, winter is in its death throes and the warm and sunny days have got to be on their way. It’s a good time of the year, a time for change, fresh starts and new beginnings. The perfect time to loose the winter coat and get toned up for summer.

Let’s take a look at some things to consider for every man’s spring time routine.


Stay Hydrated

Your skin is your largest organ and covers your entire body, if your skin is dehydrated and doesn’t look good, then you don’t look good. Always drink plenty of water and apply a quality moisturiser, especially after shaving.


Hit The Pavement

Regular exercise is an integral part of men’s health, if you’re not active, you need to be. At a minimum, get out for a walk or a run several time a week. The benefits are plenty, both physically and mentally. You will reduce your risk of chronic disease and hopefully stay out of an early grave.


Gotta Workout

Consider joining a gym or participating in other sports. Any good increase in high intensity exercise will provide a boost in testosterone levels and the release of endorphins, your bodies feel good chemicals.


Stretch It Out

Don’t underestimate the importance of a good stretch. It helps to prevent the loss in range of motion and improves posture. It can also help to prevent injury and reduce muscle soreness after exercising. You don’t need to join a hot yoga class but be sure to stretch it out from time to time.

The cold water shocks our body, improving circulation and increasing metabolism. Electrical impulses are sent to the brain, this jolt to the system releases endorphins which lead to feelings of alertness, clarity and well-being, an uncomfortable yet invigorating way to clear you mind.


The Right Fuel

A trimmed and toned beach body won’t happen overnight, but couple an increase in exercise with the right fuel for your body and you will be well on your way. To eat for best health, choose a variety of foods from the five food groups, stay away from highly processed foods and anything with trans fatty acids.
